Ãœbel Blatt - Ubel Blatt Manga Online

Ubel Blatt is a manga series created by Etorouji Shiono. Übel Blatt (Japanese: ユーベルブラット, Hepburn: Yūberu Buratto, “Evil Blade“) first started being published in Young Gangan magazine in December 2004. After a break, it continued in Monthly Big Gangan from December 24, 2011, until it ended on March 25, 2019. Square Enix collected the chapters into 24 volumes, starting with volume 0 on July 25, 2005, and finishing with volume 23 on June 25, 2019.

A side-story called Übel Blatt Gaiden was released in Young Gangan Big on August 25, 2011. In February 2014, Yen Press announced they had licensed Übel Blatt for English release in North America. They publish the series in omnibus format of two volumes in one, starting with volume 0 (Japanese volumes 0 and 1) in October 2014. In France, the manga is published by Ki-oon, with the first volume 0 released on May 24, 2007. A sequel titled Übel Blatt II: Shiseru Ō no Kishidan began serialization in Monthly Big Gangan on February 24, 2024. The series’ twelfth collected volume sold 29,167 copies in its debut week, the thirteenth sold 28,574, and the seventeenth 22,358 copies.

The first English-language omnibus received a B rating from Rebecca Silverman of Anime News Network. She praised its revenge story, likening it to The Count of Monte Cristo, and noted themes of racial inequality and political corruption brought by the supporting cast. However, Silverman criticized several “uncomfortable sexual moments,” including rape, and called the backgrounds generic. In France, Übel Blatt was among the top 15 best-selling manga titles in 2008, ranking 11th on the weekly list. Additionally, it won the Japan Expo Award 2008 in the seinen category. An anime television series adaptation was announced in Monthly Big Gangan on February 24, 2024.
